Removal of 2 panels behind the wheel reveals much mud and general debris thrown up by the front wheels over the years and forced into the cavity. I brush it out with a wire brush, remove pieces which are dropping off, and hammerite the remainder. I will need to drill some drainage holes and try to improve the insulation.

I will also need to replace the horizontal beam to which the lower panel is attached. This has completely rotten away! Luckily it is not a major structural item.
