Woodworm!!

Up to now the joists have been sound, but it is a good job I made the decision to strip the floor, or I would not have discovered that the joists in this area all need replacing. This is annoying but not too serious, since it will not be too difficult to remove the bad pieces and fit new ones.

The wood joints strike me as being designed by engineers rather than carpenters!
