Bob cuts a new upright to length |

The fuel-tank is back in place, thanks to a strong neighbour who came round this morning to give me a hand. Definitely a 2-man job. Bob the Blacksmith came on cue in the afternoon, so this was a productive day. He unbolted the 2nd upright from where it was secured at the bottom. The roof immediately sagged by 1/4 inch, but we were watching for it, and used acrow props to correct before cutting out the old upright Here Bob is checking the length of the new one against the old one, before welding the new one into place. |
