Heater refixed temporarily - and she goes! |

|
Now that the exhaust is reconnected, I refixed the heater temporarily and reconnected the pipes bringing water from the engine. This is so that I could restart the engine. Then, after clearing out the accumulated debris from inside and from underneath, I connected a pair of batteries from the DMS, short-circuited the starter button and IT FIRED FIRST PULL!. After the engine had settled down to a healthy tickover, and the white smoke had cleared, I cautiously trundled forward and back. There was a certain amount of squeaking and groaning from the weakened frame, but nothing fell off. I still have the problem of the sticking accelerator pedal which makes the engine race in neutral. Once I can get that sorted, I can think of a longer "trundle!" |
